Abstract

A number of global cities and local cities facilitate local economies and development by utilizing sports. However, their strategy is likely to be a short-term and one-time policy, which does not continuously strengthen their development. Therefore, the use of sports needs to be considered as more specific and longer term strategies for local development. This study examines the concept and role of sports city focused on cases of overseas sports cities, and successful and ideal cases of background and features of sports cities were analyzed to promote and lead the direction of improvement of sports cities in Korea. Consequently, strengthening a city’s sport capability and connecting it to local development need to be met to become a city into a successful sport city. To do so, it should premise recognition that sports cannot be treated separately from other urban policy area and it needs to invest in sports facilities, hosting sports events and competitions, and sports clubs based on the recognition for the importance of sports. Moreover, it needs a marketing strategy for branding and differentiation through sports of a city’s expertise. Finally, to make sports act as a catalyst to strengthen the process of an integrated city’s competitiveness, it requires a local government’s strong leadership and organization capacity of stakeholders.

The purpose of this study is to analyse that the college students' recognition on abuse scene of sport broadcasting influences verbal violence. The subjects were college students in P municipality and this study distributed 230 questionnaires among them. And 203 questionnaires were collected except some questionnaires that didn't fill in them properly. To analyze them, this study used SPSS Win 20.0 and AMOS 20.0 and came to a conclusion as follows. First, the College students' negative recognition on abuse scene of sport broadcasting had negative influences on verbal violence. Second, home environment wasn't affected by the college students' negative recognition on abuse scene of sport broadcasting. Third, the verbal violence also wasn't much effected by the home environment of the college students. Finally, the home environment didn't intervene in the relationship between the college students' recognition on abuse scene of sport broadcasting and the verbal violence. Therefore this study considers that the abuse scene in the game on the live broadcasting needs to apply sanction properly by a broadcasting station for TV viewers, although the college students with a higher negative understanding of this abuse scene use less verbal violence.

Abstract

PURPOSE This study explores injury attributions accepted by serious football participants, specifically intermediate and advanced players. METHODS Utilizing Q methodology, 25 Q-samples and 33 P-samples were selected, and Q-classification was conducted. Principal component factor analysis through the PQ method (vers. 2.35) was employed for data analysis, and types were interpreted and named based on the Q-sample with a Z-score of ±1.0 or higher. RESULTS Results categorized injury attributions accepted by the participants into four types: 'Type I: Facility/ Human Resource Responsibility Type,” 'Type II: Luck/Other Responsibility Type,” 'Type III: Self Responsibility Type,” and 'Type IV: Insufficient Safety Education.” This study provided academic and policy discussions by reclassifying four types according to their internal and external location and controllability. CONCLUSIONS In conclusion, this study emphasizes the relevance of all four types of injury attribution to policy considerations. Ensuring participants' right to participate in safe and enjoyable sports requires addressing facilities/human resources, education, and insurance as major policy components of sports safety.

Abstract

Purpose The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of detachable forefoot outsole on muscle activity of the lower extremity during downhill walking. Methods Thirteen male university students (age: 23.5±2.1 yrs, height: 175.7±4.6 cm, weight: 651.9±55.5 N) who have no musculoskeletal disorder were recruited as the subjects. Each subject walked down 20° ramp with forefoot’s design for the detachable outsole’s angle(5°, 10° and 20°) and type(A and B). To assess the myoelectric activities of selected muscles, six of surface EMG(QEMG8, Laxtha Inc. korea, sampling frequency = 1,024 Hz, gain = 1,000, input impedance > 1012 Ω, CMRR > 100 dB) electrodes with on-site pre-amplification circuitry were attached to ES, RF, BF, TA, LG, and MG. For each dependent variable, two-way ANOVA with repeated measures was used to determine whether there were significant differences among forefoot’s design for the detachable outsole’s angle and type (p<.05). When correlation effect was not statistically significant, post hoc analyses were performed using the multiple comparison through bonferroni, and if correlation effect was statistically significant, one-way ANOVA was performed as for the form of outsole which is an inter-group variable in order to find out simple main effect, and the paired t-test was performed to find out the angle of outsole, which is an intra-group variable. Results In IDLS phase, In terms of Rectus Femoris, 10°-B outsole showed statistically higher muscle movement than 5°-B, 5°-A outsole showed statistically higher muscle movement than 5°-B, 20°-A outsole showed statistically higher muscle movement than 20°-B. Among these outsoles, Conclusion 5°-B outsole was found to the most useful outsole for improving stability and controlling the bodily movement due to the body weight load when walking down the ramp.

Abstract

PURPOSE Despite the public’s strong interest in sport, most clubs lack a stable revenue stream tied to their fanbase. Instead, much of their operating budget depends on parent companies and local governments, leaving many with accumulated deficits and capital impairments. This study develops a financial distress prediction model using sport clubs’ financial data and identifies the main determinants of capital impairment to propose improvement strategies. METHODS Financial data from clubs classified under the “Sport Club Operation” sector of the Korean Standard Industrial Classification were collected from 2011 to 2023. After preprocessing, a logistic regression–based prediction model was built and used to analyze factors influencing capital impairment. RESULTS Of the eight independent variables examined, the current asset ratio and working capital to total assets significantly affected capital impairment at the 5% level. CONCLUSIONS Stakeholders in professional sport clubs should focus on securing net working capital by reducing current liabilities rather than merely increasing current assets. To address deficits, clubs must strengthen their internal financial structure, while governments and institutions should provide effective policy support to ease chronic financial distress.

Abstract

[Purpose] The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of recovery methods comparing with change ratio in Lactic acid(LA), Heart rate(HR), VAS(Visual analogue scale) on recovery patterns after field training(FT) in Korea National bobsleigh and skeleton players. [Methods] The tests were conducted for 3 times at a one-week interval as an experimental design within the same subjects(n=9), observed change ratio in LA, HR, VAS through applying Active recovery(AR), Whole body vibration(WBV) & Cold water immersion(CWI) after FT. [Results] The results were summarized as follows: The alteration of ratio in LA, HR, VAS decreased significantly after applying the three recovery patterns(p<.01). The difference between the groups showed that the reduction in lactic acid according to active recovery and whole-body vibration was higher than cold water immersion(p<.01). [Conclusion] In conclusion, although active recovery was more effective than static recovery, there was a significant effect of the three recovery methods in this study on reducing a fatigue in bobsleigh & skeleton players. Therefore, it would be considered to improve the performance of athletes when these methods apply for them depending on situations and environments.
